  • On Digital Ocean click the link "Networking" (on the top of the screen).  You will see a message "Looks like there are no DNS records here"
  • Click "Domains" (on left side of the screen). 
  • In the box "Domain" enter your domain name (for example, mysite.com)
  • In the box "Droplet or custom IP" select your droplet name/IP from the drop-down menu.

  • Click "Create Record" button. Your domain name will show up in the section "Domains".

  • Click on your domain name (as shown in the section "Domains").  This will open up a table where you can add new records.

 

  • In the box "Select Record Type" (see figure below) select record type "A".
  • In the box "Enter Name" enter "@" (do not enter quotes).
  • In the box "Enter IP address" copy-paste IP address of your droplet.
  • Click "Create A Record". A new record will be added to the table.
  • In the box "Select Record Type" (see figure below) select record type "A".
  • In the box "Enter Name" enter "wiki" (do not enter quotes).
  • In the box "Enter IP address" copy-paste IP address of your droplet.
  • Click "Create A Record". A new record will be added to the table.
  • In the box "Select Record Type" select record type "A".
  • In the box "Enter Name" enter "joomla" (do not enter quotes).
  • In the box "Enter IP address" copy-paste IP address of your droplet.
  • Click "Create A Record". A new record will be added to the table.
  • In the box "Select Record Type" select record type "CNAME".
  • In the box "Enter Name" enter "www" (do not enter quotes).
  • In the box "Enter hostname" enter your domain name followed by a dot (for example "mysite.com." notice the trailing dot here and, again, do not enter quotes).
  • Click "Create CNAME Record". A new record will be added to the table.

 

  • Having all these data filled in, the table should look like this (or similar to this image in case we lag behind DigitalOcean)

  • Test your domain name
  • Open a browser, write your URL (for example, http://mysite.com)This should open an Apache2 start page on  your server.
  • If it does not, then you have to wait till your domain name is fully established on the intenet (can take up to 24 hours). Try this test in 10 minutes, and if it does not work wait for longer.

  •  Log out of Digital Ocean.
  • Close this page and go to "Quick Start", 3.1 "How to register on Stormul"
